For he record, I am not a street artist. As a kid growing up I was influenced by graf I even got into some stuff that I’m not proud of… but would rather not talk about it. I’ve also painted murals for the street and have future plans to paint more. I do not how ever consider my self a street artist. I have very close friends that are and I feel it would be disrespectful to try and sell my self as one. with that said, thank you Juxt for posting my show info at the Shooting Gallery… you guys rock!!!!

What to say, and where do I start. Hands down one of my best art experiences, ranks up there with painting in London with my homies. Got there on thursday for dinner with all the invited artists.
Here was the list:
Elizabeth McGrath, Travis Louie, Yoskay Yamamoto, Greg Simkins, KRK Ryden, Buff Monster, Hussar, Miss Mindy, Audrey Kawasaki, and the amazing James Gurney. Biskup, Baseman,Brandi, Soto, Tara, and Gris showed up as well. It felt like the gathering of the tribes.

As a guest artist your asked to give a gift to the paid guests. Bob suggested I paint a 6×8 foot mural comprised of 64 pieces. We kinda lead the attendees to believe they had a chance to win the piece in its entirety. Much to their surprise, everyone walked away with a piece.

So much to say but I’m spent. I just got back from painting a wall in the shooting gallery in SF. The shows on Saturday for your information. Hope to see some of you there. What I will say and what turned out to be the highlight for me was spending time with Greg signing prints, Buff and Travis at breakfast for two hours. Elizabeth, Morgan, Lorraine, and Travis in a room till four a.m. talking about art. Good people and great conversation made the weekend for me. Painting with Hussar at four in the morning was kinda ok, but not as special as some talks I had and the new friendships I made.

Thanks Bob… hope Dayo gets to go next year… HINT HINT

As of today the Tattooville has just a handful of spots left, Crayola, Hussar, Liz, I’m sure Mr. Soto will show, you can’t go wrong. I normally would say something stupid like, more importantly I’m going to be there . How ever give the company I’ll keep my mouth shut. In case you don’t know, the event is a close up hands on weekend full of gifts and parties with some of your favorite artists. What you pay easily out weighs what you get in the gift basket alone.

Shooting gallery is shaping up well. I’ll be there a week before working on the walls… I’m stoked. Hope to see some of the SF locals there.
